We now have the latest groundbreaking technology available in eye care to offer you during eye exams. The spectral domain optical coherence tomographer (SD-OCT) is a sophisticated imaging device that provides detailed 3D images of your eye obtainable by few other means. This machine uses light waves to create high-resolution, cross-sectional images of your retina, optic nerve, cornea, and other eye structures. The machine does not touch your eye, nor does it subject you to injections or expose you to high-intensity light. SD-OCT technology can be used to detect glaucoma, macular degeneration, and many other potentially debilitating eye diseases or conditions. This device is different from a camera, which we also use to document interesting eye conditions. With an SD-OCT, we can now image layers beneath the surface of what a camera can capture. Both devices are state-of-the-art in the eye care industry, and we are pleased to offer their benefits to you.
